Abstract: Objective: To assess the trabecular bone structure of jawbones and the dens (the odontoid process of the second cervical vertebra) amongst osteoporotic and nonosteoporotic women using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT). “…A perda óssea ocorre com a idade em homens e mulheres (osteoporose relacionada com a idade), mas nas mulheres a taxa de perda óssea aumenta quando há a menopausa (osteoporose pós-menopausa) (Horner;Devlin, 1998), sendo a deficiência de estrogênio o principal fator contribuinte para a perda óssea nesse estágio (Maeda;Lazaretti-Castro, 2014).
