Abstract:The objective of this study is the assessment of potential failure zones of landslides in unstable areas. For this purpose, two different stochastic classification models were used: A boosted decision tree approach with TreeNet (TN), and a bagging decision tree approach with Random Forests (RF). Both topographic and soil parameters were considered as predictor variables for training and testing the models. We assume that several predictor variables will lead to misclassification and incorrectness, especially s… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
