With the rapid development of internet technology, various online learning platforms have emerged. The combination of the internet and education is an inevitable trend, and smart online learning platforms based on neural network become popular. This paper introduces how to design online English learning platforms through a neural network. It proposes the construction of a universally designed online English learning platform and the design of an online English learning platform server development architecture. Then, the implementation of online English learning platforms is discussed. Evaluation of the platforms is also very important, which is conducted through two questionnaire surveys. The first survey is general and the second one is more specific. Results of both surveys show that the learners’ demand for online English learning platforms is still growing, especially among the young learners. In addition, this paper reports the results of the feasibility analysis and performance test of online English learning platforms: (1) The well-designed online English learning platform has relatively complete functions and meets the needs of both students and teachers. It includes a series of functional modules such as students’ registration, analysis of students’ profile, courseware and learning resources management, test management, test score analysis, interactive discussion, online monitor and feedback. (2) There are no major defects in the implementation of the online English learning platform in this experiment. (3) The reliability and security of the online English learning platform are relatively high.

El uso práctico del enfoque basado en proyectos mediante telecolaboración parece ser un recurso útil en el aula de idiomas extranjeros. Esta investigación tiene como objetivo analizar la percepción de los estudiantes sobre la necesidad de comunicarse en un ámbito global siguiendo la clasificación de las situaciones comunicativas más habituales propuesta por Lehman y DuFrene (2013). Para ello, se realizó un experimento entre estudiantes de la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV) y del Instituto Politécnico Igor Sikorsky de Kiev (KPI) durante el semestre del curso 2020/21. Estudiantes de ambas universidades trabajaron virtualmente en equipos mixtos internacionales en sus proyectos para crear blogs sobre el tema 'Sustainable development today’. Nuestros resultados mostraron que los estudiantes de ambas instituciones mejoraron su confianza para comunicarse en contextos profesionales y académicos durante la realización de este proyecto. Los participantes mejoraron su competencia comunicativa en entornos online internacionales, y esta experiencia de intercambio virtual les ayudó a desarrollar sus habilidades digitales e interculturales, entre otras. El valor de esta investigación es la implementación de un trabajo mediante un proyecto telecolaborativo en el aula de lengua extranjera con el objetivo de ayudar a los estudiantes a comunicarse en un contexto global sobre cuestiones técnicas, como la sostenibilidad.

The aim of this paper is to carry out an empirical study on students' satisfaction with online assessment and testing at some foreign language faculties at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities-Vietnam National University-HCM (USSH-VNU-HCM). Data were obtained by giving questionnaires to students at three faculties: Faculty of English Linguistics, Faculty of Russian Linguistics and Faculty of Chinese Linguistics. The questionnaire received 201 valid responses. Quantitative techniques were applied to find out some highlights from the results. (1) Students rated their perceived satisfaction from online testing as 4.08 on the 5-point Likert scale.(2) T-test showed that in comparison between faculties, students of the Faculty of English Linguistics and the Faculty of Russian Linguistics had similar views on the application of online assessment and testing. In contrast, the degree to which students of the Faculty of Chinese Linguistics supported online testing significantly differed from those of the other faculties. (3) Findings proved that most students in the experiment approved the continuation of the online assessment and testing after the pandemic, yet ANOVA results showed a considerable difference according to the faculty where students reside. (4) Correlation of contributing factors and students' willingness towards online testing continuation showed that there were strong associations between students' willingness and the three groups of factors: test organization factors, test content factors and grading factors. The study has obtained profound feedback from students, which helps to identify the challenges that online assessment and testing may encounter in the future.
