Atherosclerotic risk factors in adolescence

Abstract: Objective: to assess the impact of atherosclerotic risk factors on adolescence.Methods: nonsystematic literature review.Results: the progression and severity of atherosclerosis are related to the presence (number), magnitude and duration of some risk factors.Conclusions: preventive health measures should be early implemented in order to ensure a healthy childhood and adolescence, and avoid future cardiovascular disease.J Pediatr (Rio J) 2001; 77 (Supl.2): S153-S164: atherosclerosis, risk factors, childhood, ad… Show more
