Abstract:A CuAu bimetallic nanocluster was synthesized by adding a single copper atom to the Au(2-PET) nanocluster. The absence of CuAu(2-PET) doped species was demonstrated by MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry. A separation of bimetallic clusters was attained for the first time where isomers of the E2 enantiomer of the AuCu(2-PET) adduct were successfully isolated from their parent cluster using chiral HPLC. The CD of the isolated isomers revealed a change in their electronic structure upon copper addition. The luminescence… Show more
“…Such adduct was also reported by us recently when reacting Au 38 nanocluster with Cu(I)-SR complex. 17 This reflects once again the dissimilarity in the doping behaviour of the two clusters.…”

“…Under particular reaction conditions, such metal exchange does not occur, and another type of metal atoms or metal ions are deposited on the surface of the metal NCs (deposition of metal atoms/ions; Figure 5F). 184,200,201 In these synthetic methods, the method shown in Figure 5A is superior for systematically isolating a series of metal NCs, and the method shown in Figure 5B−F is superior for size-selectively synthesizing a specific metal NC. In addition to these methods, there have been several…”
Section: Ligand-protected Atomically Precise Metal Ncsmentioning
This feature article describes our previous efforts for creating active water-splitting photocatalysts by using atomically precise metal nanoclusters as cocatalysts.
“…[69,105] Au 25 Ag 2 (PET) 18 (PET = phenylethanethiolate;S cheme 1B(1)) was synthesized by the depositiono ft wo Ag atoms on the surfaceo fAu 25 (PET) 18 ,a nd Au 38 Cu(PET) 24 was synthesized by the deposition of one Cu atom on the surface of Au 38 (PET) 24 using the deposition method. [105][106][107] Witht his method, it is possible to deposit heterometal atoms on the NC surfacew hile maintaining the chemical composition of the precursor NCs. However,t he charge states of the obtained alloy NCsa re not completely clear at present.…”
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
