Automatic Estimation of Coronary Blood Flow Velocity Step 1 for Developing a Tool to Diagnose Patients With Micro-Vascular Angina Pectoris

Abstract: Aim: Our aim was to automatically estimate the blood velocity in coronary arteries using cine X-ray angiographic sequence. Estimating the coronary blood velocity is a key approach in investigating patients with angina pectoris and no significant coronary artery disease. Blood velocity estimation is central in assessing coronary flow reserve. Methods and Results: A multi-step automatic method for blood flow velocity estimation based on the information extracted solely from the cine X-ray coronary angiography seq… Show more

“…In the absence of genomic DNA, platelets preserve organells including mitochondria from megakaryocytes to maintain its structure and function. The, platelet’s lifespan is (7–10 days), is determined by the mitochondria ( Melchinger et al, 2019 ). The packaging of 5–8 mitochondria is critical for vital platelet functions including aerobic respiration and metabolism.…”

“…( Hayashi et al, 2011 ). Importantly, it has been recently shown that apoptotic platelets may induce clotting ≥50-fold faster than normal platelets ( Melchinger et al, 2019 ). In addition, platelets have recently gained attention as important mediators of the immune system ( van der Meijden & Heemskerk, 2019 ).…”
