Available transfer capability calculation considering amended thermal limits

Abstract: A problem based on transient thermal circuit equation and modified thermal limits was studied in this paper, which was involved in mathematic model of optimal power flow(OPF) about available transfer capability ( ATC ) .The weakest lines were found applying modal analysis, then we estimated whether the transmitting capacity was conditioned by the temperature variation of the lines by using constraints of temperature substitute for the thermal limits of the weakest lines. The new model was constructed in order t… Show more

“…On the basis of the existing transmission contract, the available transmission capacity (ATC) [9] is the remanent actual physical transmission network. According to ATC we define access capacity in distribution system which is the maximum power, and takes into the N-1 safety criterion and the actual constraints account in a certain power supply area.…”

“…Furthermore, the advancement of novel energy sources and the increased utilization of power electronic components has posed significant power quality challenges for the power grid, including issues such as voltage dips and swells, flickers and an imbalanced voltage [1,2]. These problems pose new challenges to the power grid's safe and reliable operation [3][4][5]. Nonetheless, flexible AC transmission system (FACTS) technology can effectively address these challenges.…”
