Introduction: Breast cancer is a public health problem, characterized by an uncontrolled growth of malignant cells in breast tissue and the most common type of cancer among women, representing one of the main causes of death in the world. Objective: To carry out an epidemiological profile and trend of breast cancer in the municipalities of Belém and Ananindeua, state of Pará, Amazonia. Methods: This is an ecological, time-series, retrospective, descriptive, quantitative and analytical study, where data were collected from the Population-Based Cancer Registry/State Department of Public Health of the State of Pará in partnership with the Ophir Loyola Hospital (RCBP/SESPA/HOL). Results: The sociodemographic profile, the variable married (marital status) had the highest number of cases and percentage in 1712 (37%), followed by data without information 1214 (26%), followed by the single variable with 1079 (23%). In addition, the brown race was in first place with 1627 (35%) total cases, in schooling the data without information had the highest quantity in 1638 (35%), followed by high school (Old High School) in 1172 (25%). In tumor morphology, infiltrating ductal carcinoma was significant in 3309 (71%), followed by carcinoma without other specifications (NOS) with 284 (6%), in third place malignant neoplasm in 245 (5%). Regarding topography, in the total number of cases, breast was in first place with 2779 (60%), then the upper outer quadrant of the breast in 727 (16%), in third place invasive lesion of the breast 515 (11%), while in the two municipalities Belém had higher cases 3872, compared to Ananindeua 787. Conclusion: The data presented, as well as the epidemiological indicators of breast cancer, such as the trend of the disease, the coefficients of determination, correlation and mortality, were significant, thus elucidating a public health problem, since the epidemiological panorama in the cities of Belém and Ananindeua is increasing.

Introduction: Because of its high incidence, breast cancer is the subject of numerous studies today. Despite being an uncommon disease in young women, when it affects this population, it tends to be more aggressive and has high mortality rates. Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate the prognostic factors present in the immunohistochemical profile of young women with breast cancer, comparing the age groups of very young women (<35 years old — Group I) and young women (between 35 and 40 years old — Group II), to see if the data obtained match what is reported in the literature. Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out, analyzing the immunohistochemical tests of 90 female patients with invasive breast carcinoma. The groups were classified on the basis of molecular subtype: luminal A, luminal B, hybrid luminal, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 positive and triple-negative. Results: The histological type with the highest incidence was invasive breast carcinoma of no special type. The most frequent molecular subtypes were luminal B and triple-negative. With regard to estrogen and progesterone receptors, there was a slight predominance of positive receptors. Ki-67 levels showed that in the triple-negative and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 positive subtypes, there was a predominance of high cell proliferation index. Conclusion: In the population of young women in this cohort of patients, there was agreement with literature data regarding the predominance of the invasive carcinoma of no special type histological type and the luminal B and triple-negative molecular subtypes, and the presence of high cell proliferation rates, attesting to the higher prevalence of more aggressive tumors in the younger population. There was also no statistically significant difference in all aspects analyzed when comparing Groups I and II. However, a higher frequency of negative hormone receptors or overexpressed human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 molecular subtypes was not detected, characteristics that are common to young women with breast cancer, which has been pointed out in several studies worldwide.

RESUMOO câncer de mama é a doença mais temida pelas mulheres em todo o mundo, pois causam efeitos psicológicos, que levam a baixa autoestima, depressão e ansiedade por questões relacionadas a alterações da imagem corporal, sexualidade além de causar dor e desconforto local. Entretanto, o carcinoma de mama é caracterizado como uma doença singular, apresentando diferentes subtipos de neoplasmas, divergindo entre suas características morfológicas, clínicas, moleculares e genéticas, dificultando a farmacoterapia. O uso do tamoxifeno TMX, como fármaco para tratamento destas pacientes, para esse tipo de neoplasia, pode levar a formação de produtos de biotransformação, entre os quais, o endoxifeno, que é dependente da isoforma CYP2D6, cujo o gene apresenta inúmeros polimorfismos que reduzem a atividade metabólica dessa via biológica, podendo acarreta danos na terapia medicamentosa. O objetivo do estudo é realizar a revisão da literatura do estudo do perfil farmacogenético das pacientes com câncer de mama na região amazônica do Brasil. Foi realizado a revisão integrativa do assunto, utilizando as bibliotecas on-line, no período de julho de 2020 a junho de 2021, nos quais foram utilizados critérios de inclusão e exclusão, para escolha dos artigos. Nos resultados achados, encontramos 8 publicações, sendo que, 4 publicações da Pubmed e 4 publicações da Scielo. Concluímos que variabilidade genética leva a alteração na resposta farmacológica através da biotransformação do TMX, comprometendo a segurança e eficácia do tratamento, o que pode ocasionar abandono da farmacoterapia e aumento dos índices de mortalidade da doença. Além disso, não há estudo que demonstrem o perfil genético das pacientes da região Amazônica, que fazem uso do TMX, durante terapia e suas consequências, no desfecho da doença.
