Bandwidth Enhancement of Slot Antenna Using Fractal Shaped Isosceles for UWB Applications

Abstract: In this paper, a coplanar waveguide (CPW) fed slot antenna using fractal-shaped isosceles trapezoidal corrugations is designed and presented for Ultra-Wideband (UWB) applications. The proposed antenna is formed by a regular hexagonal patch fed through a CPW feed line and radiates amidst a notched wide hexagonal slot. The edge of the wide slot is shaped by a fractal structure that is formed by five trapezoidal notches. The antenna is printed on RO4350B substrate having a compact size of 0.305λ0 × 0.313λ0 × 0.01… Show more

“…The most effective method is to fabricate a UWB antenna with notched functions. [1][2][3][4][5] all achieve ultra-wide band. However, it is difficult and challenging to design an UWB-MIMO antenna that is small, has good anti-interference capabilities, a low coupling, and multiple notch characteristics.…”

“…Utilizing equivalent circuits to analyze an antenna has the advantages of fast operation speed, high efficiency and less consumption of computational resources. Precise and effective equivalent circuits have emerged as powerful methods for investigating antenna radiation characteristics [1][2][3][4][5], coupling effects between array elements [6][7], transient response problems [8][9][10], loaded antennas [11][12][13], and antenna design and optimization [14][15][16][17][18][19][20]. Equivalent circuit modeling is a significant area of interest within the field of antennas.…”
