Bank destruction in the middle section of the Amudarya River

Abstract: The paper presents the results of a full-scale study of the banks destruction in the middle section of the Amudarya River. The article presents the main factors of coastal destruction during floods and low water periods. Recommendations for the protection of banks from erosion are also developed. As a result of studies of the intensive local re-formation process of an easily washed-out channel, the plan for hydraulic schemes for the occurrence of local erosion of the coast both with a steady and unsteady movem… Show more

“…The construction of an average low-pressure hydroelectric complex is complicated by the difficulties in placing energy-extinguishing devices due to the complexity of the mountainous terrain. Extinguishing the energy of the water flow in the case of lateral water intake and preventing the phenomenon of the channel process per hectare of hydraulic structures requires the introduction of effective energy absorbers in practice [5][6]. In this regard, using effective means and devices that reduce the excess kinetic energy of the water flow in medium and low-pressure waterworks is particularly important.…”

“…After an in-depth analysis of the existing problems, a number of proposals and recommendations were developed to improve the treatment plant with a capacity of N = 6.5 kW in the model HQN4.8x5.5-75˚, developed on the basis of Chinese technology [18,21]. In particular, the cleaning device of the model HQN4.8x5.5-75˚ has a small length of the tooth part (15 cm) that collects the debris, so the range of coverage of the debris is small, and its efficiency is very low [19,20].…”

“…Karimov. As a result of these studies, methods were developed with the conditions for preventing the accumulation of sediments, erosion of the channel, the choice of structural elements, effectively settling sediments as part of a moving stream, and parameters of morphometric elements of the channel [8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15]. As a result of these studies, recommendations were developed for choosing the most hydraulically optimal sections of channel sections and ensuring their efficient operation under certain hydrological conditions.…”
