Bankruptcy Risk Management of a Machine Builder

Abstract: The article presents the basic stages and results of the work with the decision support system in the process of risk management of bankruptcy by the example of a machine builder. Application of the suggested system allows solving four main tasks in the process of risk management of bankruptcy: selection of problem ratios; determining the bankruptcy risk level; generating and selecting alternatives for the problem ratios improvement; evaluating the economic efficiency of the chosen alternatives.

“…These tools cannot be invariably used for the support of other types of decision. Assessment fuzzy set model of an engineering enterprise bankruptcy risk [4], hierarchical model of a method choice for bankruptcy risk minimization [1], competitiveness assessment model of high technology engineering products [5], preproject risk assessment model for IT introduction [6], model for IT applications assessment for migration in cloud environment [7] and other models serve as examples for such special-purpose tools. Let's consider typical situations and problems that demand experts' help while decision making.…”

“…Currently the decision support systems (DSS) are actively applied when managing various economic entities and organization structures [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8] including company bankruptcy risk management [9][10][11]. DSS development requires proper mathematical models.…”

“…It should also be noted that the managers and the experts work under the conditions of information insufficiency and uncertainty. If absence of information can be, at least in principle, solved by one of the following means: exploration, previous experience, experimental work, and the uncertainty associated with lack of experts agreement can be solved to some extent by application of fuzzy sets approach [1,2]. That's why to build adequate mathematical models of assessing the product competitiveness beside the multi-criteria approach it is relevant to apply the group of fuzzy methods for mutual exclusion of unsatisfactory features and the opportunity of comparing the obtained results which improves the decision flexibility in the area of the studied problem [3].…”
