Hammerstain and Cupceancu (13) and Ismail et al (14) emphasize the efficacy of cyproterone acetate, one of the most powerful progestagens, which exerts a potent antiandrogenic action not only decreasing the plasma T levels, but also inhibiting its action in the peripheral sites (12). Investigations are in progress in this Institute in an attempt to demonstrate a regression of hirsutism also in those cases failing to respond to other hormonal treatments.…”
