“…These case reports and literature on the subject have been recently reviewed by H eck¬ mann. 1 Since that publication, two larger series of primary orbital hemangiopericytomas have been re¬ corded: the seven cases of Jakobiec et al2 and the composite nine cases from the files of the Mayo Clinic3 (five of our own plus four from the report of Brown et al4). The former series2 was unusual in that it included one patient who had an overall period of observa¬ tion of 42 years (the longest follow-up period in the ophthalmic literature), but the remaining six patients had not been observed longer than eight years.…”
