Best Practices for Health Informatician Involvement in Interprofessional Health Care Teams

Abstract: a We note some informaticians do provide direct care as trained and licensed physicians, nurses, dentists, pharmacists, therapists, social workers, midwives, etc. Further, as the scope of health professionalism changes, some informaticians who practice in public health, care coordination, or wellness coaching may be thought to provide care. However, our main point is a team member in the domains of health and healthcare can impart value without providing direct care.
