Beta3 adrenergic receptor is involved in vascular injury in deoxycorticosterone acetate‐salt hypertensive mice

Abstract: Edited by Laszlo NagyBeta3 adrenergic receptor (ADRB3) mediates vessel relaxation in the endothelium while it modulates lipolysis in the adipose tissue. However, the function and regulation mechanism of ADRB3 in the perivascular adipose tissue (PVAT), especially in hypertension, is still unclear. We show that ADRB3 protein is upregulated in the PVAT of deoxycorticosterone acetatesalt (DOCA-salt) hypertensive mice, with the characteristics of PVAT browning and increased uncoupling protein 1 (UCP1) expression. I… Show more

“…Significant upregulated expression of let-7b and miR-144 in T2DM patients in our study may indicates downregulated expression of their target gene, including ADBR2/ADBR3 (β-adrenoreceptors) and NR3C1 (GR), respectively. Sheng, et al verified that the protein expression of ADRB3 was regulated by direct binding of let-7b at 3′-UTR ( 22 ). In addition, they found that let-7b was negatively correlated with ADRB3 protein level and had a decreased expression in perivascular adipose tissue of hypertensive mice.…”

“…Both plasma CRH and IL-6 were negatively associated with miR-142 expression in total subjects, which may be explained by the inhibitory effect of miRNA on target genes. Microarray analysis revealed the downregulation miR-142 in the peripheral blood of mice associated with pronounced enhanced oxidative stress ( 22 ).…”

“…Human β3-adrenoreceptor is a member of the family of 7-transmembrance G-protein-coupled receptors. It is widely recognized that the β3-adrenoreceptor is indirectly involved in the etiology of hypertension through reducing lipolysis and activating the sympathetic nervous system [ 25 , 32 ]. Numerous studies have suggested that hypertension is partly under genetic control, and therefore to look for candidate genetic markers responsible for hypertension predisposition and/or blood pressure changes is justifiable [ 33 , 34 ].…”
