Bibliometric Analysis and Visualization Mapping of Anthrax Vaccine Publications from 1991 through 2021

Abstract: Purpose: This study aims to analyze and characterize anthrax vaccine-related research, key developments, global research trends, and mapping of published scientific research articles during the last three decades (1991–2021). Methods: A bibliometric and visualized study was conducted. The Web of Science Core Collection database (WoSCC) was searched using relevant keywords (“Anthrax” OR “Anthrax bacterium” OR “Bacillus anthracis” OR “Bacteridium anthracis” OR “Bacillus cereus var. Anthracis” (Topic)) AND (“Vacc… Show more

“…The presence of a large number of clinical and research centers in the USA may have allowed further research on this subject. Similar to our study, in the bibliometric research on the anthrax vaccine, the highest number of publications was published by the USA, followed by the UK (20). The fact that there is more publication in the USA on vaccines suggests that it may be due to the fact that the USA allocates a significant budget to research and development in almost every research area.…”

“…The findings of the current study are in line with previously published bibliometric studies conducted in different research fields ( 39 47 ). The possible explanation for this is that the USA allocated a considerable budget to research, science, and technology, and strongly collaborated with other developed countries ( 23 ).…”

“…The obtained data were exported into HistCite TM software, version 12.3.17; VOSviewer software, version 1.6.17; and Bibliometrix: An R-tool, version 3.2.1 to perform the prerequisite analysis. The citations count was calculated using HistCite TM software (22) papers included in the sample (documents or publications analyzed in the current study), while GCS means a paper has been cited by all the included papers in the WoSCC database (23). Furthermore, the obtained data were plotted for coauthorship authors' network visualization and co-authorship countries or regions overlay visualization mapping using VOSviewer software (24).…”

“…Ahmad used bibliometrics to analyze the research trends of SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19 in the previous 2 years ( 11 ), and Zhang et al analyzed the global research trend of COVID-19 nursing ( 12 ). In addition, bibliometrics is also used in vaccine development ( 13 ), clinical intervention (such as diabetes) ( 14 ) and any other fields. However, at present, there is no research on EHR in the nursing field in the way of bibliometrics.…”
