Bioinspired Assembly of Double Honeycomb‐Like Hierarchical Capsule Confined Encapsulation with Functional Micro/Nanocrystals

Abstract: Inspired by “micro/nanoreactor” effect of cellular organelle on specific biochemical reactions, a double honeycomb‐like hierarchical capsule confined encapsulation with functional micro/nanocrystals is designed. The bioinspired hierarchical capsules derived from polymeric composite microspheres are successfully fabricated through a combination of selective chemical etching and pyrolysis. In situ introduction of functional guests (including organometallic molecules, tetraethoxysilane, or metal–organic framework… Show more

“…By FTIR analysis, an obvious reduction in the intensity of carboxylate COO stretching bands at 1537.5 cm −1 for asymmetric vibration and 1398.7 cm −1 for symmetric vibration was observed and CO stretching band at 1695.3 cm −1 disappeared for NFe 3 O 4 @C(M) and NFe 3 O 4 @C(GC) (Figure 4b), which suggests that chemical interaction between guests and SBU of MIL‐53(Fe) has been formed during the pyrolysis process. [ 35,36 ] The wide absorption peak at 3341.5 cm −1 was observed after CVD loading of melamine and dimethylimidazole, indicating the adsorption of more dissociative hydroxyl groups. Moreover, the sulfur species appeared in NFe 3 O 4 @C(T) accompanying by absorption peak at 1308.1 cm −1 .…”

“…This gradient suppresses the reflection loss and increases the wide‐angle transmittance in a wide range of wavelengths. [ 33 ] Inspired by the biological structures with unique optical properties, such as butterfly wing [ 34 ] ( Figure a–h), honeycomb, [ 35 ] fish scale (Figure 2i–k), [ 36 ] and nacre (Figure 2l–p), [ 37 ] applications on solar cells, photocatalysts, functional micro/nanocrystals, and photonic devices were designed.…”

“…Carbon materials have better thermal and chemical stability and are widely used in various areas including catalysis, energy storage, and adsorption. , Compared to other templates, MOFs are considered as promising templates to synthesize nanoporous carbon materials for their structural features. By taking advantage of MOFs, MOF-derived nanoporous carbons not only directly inherit the hierarchical pore structure and flexible framework of MOFs but also possess the unique stability of carbon materials, which will be important candidates to fabricate stable MMMs with good separation performance.…”
