Biomarkers of aging in HIV: inflammation and the microbiome

Abstract: PurposeHIV-infected subjects present increased levels of inflammatory cytokines and T-cell activation in the peripheral blood despite suppressive combination antiretroviral therapy which renders them at increased risk of premature aging.
