The increase in agricultural food demand during the last years has caused the expansion of cultivated areas. As a result, more chemical fertilizers are used in agriculture to fulfill the demand of the increasing population worldwide. Pesticides and chemical fertilizers are not recommended because they lead to environmental pollution, the development of resistant pests, and cause serious health problems. Thus, the reduction in the use of synthetic products is highly recommended. In this regard, alternative strategies for sustainable agriculture should be implemented. One of these strategies is the use of biofertilizers, specifically biofertilizer fungi that are widely applied in agriculture. Trichoderma seems to be the best candidate for use in green technologies due to its wide biofertilization and biostimulatory potential. Most Trichoderma species increase nutrient availability and uptake in plants. They are considered as plant growth-promoting fungi (PGPF). This genus colonizes the root systems of plants and promotes their growth. It can increase nutrient availability and uptake in plants by fixing nitrogen and solubilizing phosphorus. Moreover, they help plants tolerate environmental stresses such as drought, salinity, and stimulate plant growth due to their capacity to produce phytohormones such as indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) and gibberellins (GAs). Phytohormones play an important role in agriculture; they enhance plant growth through several processes.

INTRODUCTION: Endophytic fungi are microorganisms that live inside plants for at least part of their life cycle without causing any harm. They can stimulate dormancy breakdown by producing metabolites that act on the embryo that stimulate seed germination and potentially growth promoters with symbiotic interactions between plants. The compounds produced have diverse effects, such as: stimulators of growth and development of plants, increased mineralization and availability of nutrients, producing stimulating compounds releasing phytohormones and breakdown of dormancy. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Selected several articles that were collected in the scientific databases in Portuguese and English. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: Articles were selected for the elaboration of a table reporting the main compounds in the promotion of growth and breakdown of dormancy. CONCLUSION: Endophytes can contribute to the discovery of new biomolecules for various biotechnological applications and the development of sustainable agriculture.

Biomolecule isolation is a crucial process in diverse biomedical and biochemical applications, including diagnostics, therapeutics, research, and manufacturing. Recently, MXenes, a novel class of two‐dimensional nanomaterials, have emerged as promising adsorbents for this purpose due to their unique physicochemical properties. These biocompatible and antibacterial nanomaterials feature a high aspect ratio, excellent conductivity, and versatile surface chemistry. This timely review explores the potential of MXenes for isolating a wide range of biomolecules, such as proteins, nucleic acids, and small molecules, while highlighting key future research trends and innovative applications poised to transform the field. This review provides an in‐depth discussion of various synthesis methods and functionalization techniques that enhance the specificity and efficiency of MXenes in biomolecule isolation. In addition, the mechanisms by which MXenes interact with biomolecules are elucidated, offering insights into their selective adsorption and customized separation capabilities. This review also addresses recent advancements, identifies existing challenges, and examines emerging trends that may drive the next wave of innovation in this rapidly evolving area.
