[Bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl) phosphato-κO]pentakis(methanol-κO)manganese bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl) phosphate methanol trisolvate

Abstract: The crystal structure of the complex [Mn{OOP(O-2,6-iPr2C6H3)2}(CH3OH)5]+[OOP(O-2,6-iPr2C6H3)2]−·(CH3OH)3 exhibits O—H⋯O bonds between the cations, anions and non-coordinating methanol molecules, forming infinite one-dimensional associates. The complex demonstrates inhibition of thermal oxidation of polydimethylsiloxane.

“…The coordination polymer structures of the tris(dialkyl phosphate) complexes usually lead to poorer catalytic activity. However, the crystal structures of four dimeric complexes, namely [Ln 2 {(2,6-t Bu 2 -4-MeC 6 H 2 -O)(EtO)PO 2 } 6 ] [Ln = La (TEQCUP) and Nd (TEQDAW)], [Y 2 {(2,6-t Bu 2 -4-MeC 6 H 2 -O)(EtO)PO 2 } 6 ]Áhexane (TEQDEA) (Nifant'ev et al, 2013) and [Lu 2 {(2,6-t Bu 2 -4-MeC 6 H 2 -O)(EtO)PO 2 } 6 ]Á2heptane (CCDC deposition code 1830858; Minyaev et al, 2018), have been studied recently by our group. The complexes have been obtained by reacting K[(2,6-t Bu 2 -4-MeC 6 H 2 -O) 2 PO 2 ] with LnCl 3 (H 2 O) n (n = 6 or 7) in a 3:1 ratio in water, followed by recrystallization from hexane or heptane.…”

“…In addition, the polymers obtained were not studied by size-exclusion chromatography (SEC); therefore, no molecular-weight distributions were obtained (molecular masses were estimated only by viscosimetry), making it difficult to compare the polymers produced. Herein, and also in our recent work (Minyaev et al, 2018b), we have expanded the catalytic systems with respect to both the metal (Ln = Y, La, Nd and Lu) and the ligands used {diarylphosphate complexes [Ln 2 {(2,6-t Bu 2 -4-MeC 6 H 2 -O)(EtO)-PO 2 } 6 ], with Ln = Nd (Nifant'ev et al, 2013) and Lu (Minyaev et al, 2018b), and salicylimino complexes (1)-(3) and (5) were considered as precatalysts}, as well as studying polyacrylonitrile (PAN) samples by SEC.…”

“…Among various tested rare-earth derivatives (Table 3), the best catalytic performance was shown by a catalytic system based on the fairly expensive lutetium organophosphate (Minyaev et al, 2018b; Table 3, run 7). Moreover, the produced PAN had twice as small a polydispersity index (Ð M = 2.6) as that of PAN obtained using commercially available NdP, which was used as a benchmark (run 9, Ð M = 5.0).…”

“…Complexes of d-and f-metals, bearing disubstituted organophosphate ligands, are of particular interest as model compounds in studies of biologically active metal centres (Atkinson & Lindoy, 2000;Deck et al, 2002;Dey et al, 2012;Ferreira et al, 1998;Hegg & Burstyn, 1998;Kö vá ri & Krä mer, 1996;Lipscomb & Strä ter, 1996;Lu et al, 2007;Sato et al, 2012), as precatalysts for some catalytic processes, for example, alkene cyclopropanation and carbene insertions (Lacasse et al, 2005;Hrdina et al, 2013), polymerization of conjugated dienes (Anwander, 2002;Friebe et al, 2006;Kobayashi & Anwander, 2001;Minyaev et al, 2018a,b,c;Nifant'ev et al, 2013Nifant'ev et al, , 2014Zhang et al, 2010b), acrylonitrile (Minyaev et al, 2018d) and dilactide (Nifant'ev et al, 2013), inhibition of the thermal decomposition of polydimethylsiloxanes (Minyaev et al, 2018b,e), and for the development of advanced materials, for example, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) (Chen et al, 2017a) and multicomponent oxides with complex stoichiometries (Fujdala & Tilley, 2004).…”
