The complex (Me 2 AsS 2 ) 3 Ga (1) attracted water molecules that slowly and completely hydrolyzed it. The product was the dinuclear gallium compound (Me 2 AsS 2 ) 2 Ga-S-Ga(S 2 AsMe 2 ) 2 (2) as 2·0.75H 2 O, which was structurally characterized with X-ray crystallography (P2 1 2 1 2 1 , R 1 = 0.0321, wR 2 = 0.0622). The packing in the crystalline state is dictated by the mediation of crystallization water molecules, which connect the complex units through strong O-H···S and weak C-H···O hydrogen bonds into infinite zigzag chains.Having the gallium complex (Me 2 AsS 2 ) 3 Ga (1), we tried to crystallize it in order to see whether the arrangement around gallium is the same as in (Me 2 AsS 2 ) 3 In [14] or is different as in the case of [(Me 2 CHCH 2 ) 2 PS 2 ] 3 M, in which for M = Ga the arrangement is tetrahedral, and for M = In the arrangement is octahedral. [6] However, the crystals isolated were due to the new and novel complex 2 described herein.
