“…A recent study using the methanolic extract of fruits of Amomum subulatum showed that the anti‐inflammatory mechanism exerted by this herb may be mediated by the HO‐1 system along with the traditional cyclooxygenase pathway, setting a new pace in drug research and development in this field (Bairwa et al., 2011; Drishya et al., 2021a; Gautam et al., 2016). A significant anticancer activity was also demonstrated by the fruit by upregulating the expresson of p53, downregulating Bcl2, and overexpression of cleaved PARP‐1 (Poly (ADP‐ribose) polymerase‐1 in different cells lines (Makhija et al., 2022; Ramakrishnan, 2021). In addition, other biological parameters such as antinociceptive, cardioadaptagenic effects have also been demonstrated by the extracts and essential oils of Amomumsubulatum .…”

“…IC 50 values of the hexane and ethyl acetate extracts were found to be 622 ± 115 μg/mL and 778 ± 225 μg/mL for the MCF‐7 cell line and 500 ± 67 μg/mL and 724 ± 223 μg/mL for HeLa cell lines, respectively Makhija et al. (2022) analyzed the cytotoxic effects of Amomum subulatum's fruit extracts (hexane, dichloromethane, tetrahydrofuran, methanol, and water extract) for their cytotoxicity against various cell lines (MCF‐7, MDA‐MB‐231, A549, NCI‐H1299, HepG2, and HCCLM3). The findings of MTT assay suggest that cell viability of all four extracts at 100 μg/mL dose was the lowest in lung cancer cells (A549 and H1299).…”

“…The fruit extracts also exhibited anticancer activity in mice through the control of cytokines that cause inflammation as well as the NF-κB signaling ( Sudarsanan et al., 2021 ). A recent study discovered that the dichloromethane extract of A. subulatum had an apoptotic effect against lung cancer cells ( Makhija et al., 2022 ).…”
