Branching Ratios forK+→3πDecays

Abstract

The branching ratios 7'+/(K+-+ all) and r'+/r+ were obtained from a sample of 12 976 K4 decays including 198 r'+ and 693 T+ decays. I t was found that r"/(Kf-+ all)=0.0153f 0.0011, and that T'+/T+ =0.286rt0.023. The r+/(K++ all) branching ratio and the rf energy spectrum in 7'' decay were also obtained, and were found to be in good agreement with the more precise determinations of the other experiments. The brqnching-ratio data suggest a small A1 =# admixture in the K -+ 3~ decay amplitudes. Comparison with various theoretical models sholvs fair to good agremeent between experiment and theory.
