Broadband circularly polarized printed falcate‐shaped monopole antenna

Abstract: In this study, a simple broadband circularly polarized (CP) printed monopole antenna for S/C-band applications is proposed. The CP antenna is composed of a falcate-shaped monopole with a right-angle trapezoid stub, then wide impedance and axial ratio (AR) bandwidths are achieved. By placing one rectangular split-ring resonator above the stub for generating upper CP mode, both of impedance and CP performances are further improved.
