Broadband dual‐polarized omnidirectional antenna with simple feeding structure

Abstract: This paper presents a broadband dual‐polarized omnidirectional antenna with a simple feeding structure. It consists of a monopolar patch element for vertically linear polarization (VP) and a circular printed‐dipole array for horizontally linear polarization (HP). The monopolar patch antenna is loaded with shorting vias and coupled ring in order to broaden the VP bandwidth, nevertheless keeping a low profile. The printed dipoles with integrated balun are arranged on a circular substrate and incorporated with a … Show more

“…However, the proposed antenna offers an IBW of 62.6% and ARBW of 37% with an antenna gain of 6 dBi. Other current works on the nonplanar indoor antenna with different techniques and shapes were reported by [53][54][55][56]. Quadrilateral dipole patches (kite-shaped patches) and bowtie-shaped feedline were used by [15], as shown in Figure 6, to realise a wide IBW.…”

Other current works on the nonplanar indoor antenna with different techniques and shapes were reported by [53][54][55][56]. Conventional indoor antennas (waveguide, nonplanar or multilayer planar antennas) exhibit a wide or broad IBW, narrow ARBW, high gain and omnidirectional radiation pattern.…”
