Information management plays a very significant role in an organization. It helps the organization manage files and documents in an organized way. The main objective of this study is to propose a system that would help improve the process of handling and recording customer information as well as enhance communication between the customer and the business organization. In order to ensure the improvement of the process in Bicol Garments, the proponents have identified the following problems: manual listing and processing of customers' information and job orders; as well as communication problems. With this, business process management was used for modeling and reengineering the workflow process. The study utilizes business process management to show the existing process and the proposed new process for Bicol Garments. By analyzing the As-Is process, the proponents noticed several problems in the current process and proposed a To-Be BPMN in order to resolve the issue. The experimentation in the study also shows that the use of the proposed system will improve the current process at Bicol Garments and provide ease of access to the customer. The study has proposed several protocols to help improve the process. These protocols were simulated in several instances and have shown improvements. However, the result of this study cannot be completely generalized because it has not yet been implemented in Bicol Garments.

Scorecard-based measurement techniques are used by organizations to measure the performance of their business operations. A scorecard approach could be applied to a database system to measure performance of SQL (Structured Query Language) being executed and the extent of resources being used by SQL. In a large data warehouse, thousands of jobs run daily via batch cycles to refresh different subject areas. Simultaneously, thousands of queries by business intelligence tools and ad-hoc queries are being executed twenty-four by seven. There needs to be a controlling mechanism to make sure these batch jobs and queries are efficient and do not consume database systems resources more than optimal. The authors propose measurement of SQL query performance via a scorecard tool. The motivation behind using a scorecard tool is to make sure that the resource consumption of SQL queries is predictable and the database system environment is stable. The experimental results show that queries that pass scorecard evaluation criteria tend to utilize optimal level of database systems computing resources. These queries also show improved parallel efficiency (PE) in using computing resources (CPU, I/O and spool space) that demonstrate the usefulness of SQL scorecard.

Maintaining a stable data warehouse becomes quite a challenge if discipline is not applied to code development, code changes, code performance, system resource usage and configuration of integration specification. As the size of the data warehouse increases the value it brings to an organization tends to increase. However these benefits come at a cost of maintaining the applications and running the data warehouse efficiently on a twenty four hours a day and seven days a week basis. Governance is all about bringing discipline and control in the form of guidelines for application developers and IT integration engineers to follow, with a goal that the behavior of a data warehouse application becomes predictable and manageable. In this article the authors have defined and explained a set of data warehouse governance best practices based on their real-world experience and insights drawn from industry and academic papers. Data warehouse governance can also support the development life cycle, maintenance, data architecture, data quality assurance, the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act requirements and enforce business requirements.
