In the framework of the research project „Success and withdrawal of international students in Germany“ (SeSaBa), the study and life situation of international students was analysed in detail. Between the winter semester 2017/18 and the summer semester 2020, more than 4,500 international bachelor’s and master’s students from 125 universities were surveyed about their study and living situation in Germany. This publication summarizes key findings from the SeSaBa project.

Im BMBF-Projekt „Studienerfolg und Studienabbruch bei Bildungsausländern und -ausländerinnen in Deutschland im Bachelor- und Masterstudium“ (SeSaBa) analysierten der Deutsche Akademische Austauschdienst, das Bayerische Staatsinstitut für Hochschulforschung und Hochschulplanung und die FernUniversität in Hagen gemeinsam die Studiensituation internationaler Studierender. Zwischen dem Wintersemester 2017/18 und dem Sommersemester 2020 wurden über 4.500 internationale Bachelor- bzw. Masterstudierende von 125 Hochschulen in halbjährlichen Abständen insgesamt sechs Mal zu ihrer Studien- und Lebenssituation in Deutschland befragt. In der vorliegenden, praxisorientierten Abschlusspublikation werden zentrale Ergebnisse aus dem Projekt SeSaBa zusammengefasst.
