Abstract:The article presents the results of studies on the effectiveness and safety of a III generation calcium antagonist lercanidipine in the treatment of hypertension. Lercanidipine treatment leads to a marked significant reduction in systolic and diastolic blood pressure without producing a significant effect on heart rate. The drug has organ-protective effect, reduces left ventricular hypertrophy, improves kidney function and has antiproteinuric action.
