Carbon financial markets underlying climate risk management, pricing and forecasting: Fundamental analysis

Abstract: Climate Change (CC) is a major issue of our century. Controlling the constraints of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions through transformation into opportunities, in an organization to increase industrial production, has become a necessity. The main reason for this adoption was the effectiveness of energy management and responsible linkages that are being developed to determine the issues and opportunities of carbon finance for organizations. Through analysis of the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS) … Show more

“…Unlike linear regression, which uses least squares to determine the conditional mean of a specific distribution, considering various changes, quantile regression, firstly, is not based on assumptions about the distribution of the target variable, and secondly, it is more robust to outlier observations (Koenker et al, 2001;SuperDataScience Team, 2021;Aghamohammadi et al, 2022). Consequently, quantile regression is widely used for research in practical fields such as ecology (El Amri et al, 2020;Keliuotytė-Staniulėnienė et al, 2021), health care (Kraft, 2021;Kaya, 2021) and financial economics (Jeon, 2021).…”

“…The authors [22], within the framework of the scientific discussion, investigate the issues related to searching for and improving the existing approaches for assessing the impact of CO 2 on the state of the environment and the economic stability of the country, which will allow for the opening of new directions (providing carbon financing for economic entities, developing energy management, etc.) [23,24] in increasing the country's competitiveness and energy security. The study [25] examines the clustering method as one of the tools for solving the ecological and economic problems of waste management and the development of energy-independent regions at the expense of renewable energy sources and ecological innovations.…”

“…In 2022, there was a shock jump in energy prices, for which EU countries were not prepared. The lack of a unified foreign energy policy did not allow the EU to quickly form a common energy position on Russia's invasion of Ukraine (Mišík, 2022;El Amri et al, 2020). Somewhat later, a new European plan, RePowerEU, was proposed, one task of which was to reduce dependence on Russian energy resources.…”
