“…It can be observed that the role of the concept of sustainability in relation with suppliers is constantly increasing (Fan et al 2021 ; Hosseini et al 2022 ). The expectations of buyers towards suppliers will focus more on reducing the consumption of raw materials and energy, as well as on reducing gas emissions (to reduce the carbon footprint) (Hashmi et al 2021 ). On the other hand, expectations towards suppliers regarding the implementation of the business continuity management concept should ensure the resilience of supply chains to possible disruptions (Hosseini et al 2019 ; Shin and Park 2021 ).…”

“…Given the rise of environmental regulatory compliance pressure, companies are operating under new forms of constraint that include carbon footprints, waste, and energy consumption. To manage supplier selection under such constraints, Hashmi et al [40] combines goal programming and fuzzy concepts to construct a multi-objective supplier selection optimization problem in an uncertain environment. This approach is found to have effectively dealt with the human subjectivity problem by adopting a linguistic preference-based scale and studying the impact of supplier selection results on the environmental efficiency of the company.…”

“…Such sources are also diverse because there is no single rule to collect and report them (Shahin and Rezaei, 2018). These days with increasing globalization, supplier selection has become more complex (Hashmi et al, 2021) and purchasing raw materials has a direct impact on overall cost (Singh and Modgil, 2020). Based on the literature review, the research hypothesis is: H0.…”
