Carbonyl group‐containing organometallic intramolecular‐coordination five‐membered ring compounds

Abstract: Carbonyl group-containing organometallic intramolecular-coordination five-membered ring compounds are easily synthesized by the following five reaction methods: (1) cyclometalation, especially, orthometalation reactions; (2) the reactions of the moieties of an unsaturated carbon-carbon bond attached to a carbonyl group (C C-CO, C C-CO); (3) the reactions of an unsaturated carbon-carbon bond with carbon monoxide (C C and CO, C C and CO); (4) carbonylative ring expansion reactions; and (5) others. These compound… Show more

“…As mentioned in Scheme (section ), C–H activation of α,β-unsaturated ketone, ester, or aldehyde is a general method for production of metallafurans. Similarly, metallapyrroles can also be prepared by this strategy. The reactions of ArRuLCl 2 with phenylmethanimine derivatives in the presence of AgBF 4 provided a series of benzo-fused ruthenapyrroles 311 (Scheme ).…”

“…CH activation of α,β-unsaturated ketones, esters, or aldehydes is another convenient means for the construction of metallafurans. This method utilizes the coordination ability of the CO group, which facilitates the activation of an sp 2 β-CH bond to construct a relatively stable five-membered ring. Many metallafurans have been developed in this way.…”
