“…Tumors arising within urethral diverticulae are also rare, accounting for 5% of female urothelial and 0.002% of all female malignancies, with only approximately 100 cases reported to date [reviewed in Ahmed et al (15)]. Unlike primary vaginal and urethral carcinomas, tumors arising in urethral diverticulae are more commonly adenocarcinomas (60%) (15,16). The adenocarcinomas reported to date have been of columnar, mucinous, tubular, or clear cell morphology (15), and we are not aware of any examples of serous carcinoma arising within the urethra or within a urethral diverticulum.…”
