“…The finding that atrial fibrillation as the commonest arrythmia in our cohort, compares well with prior analyses using the NIS for various disease states 5,8,9,13 . It has been hypothesized that low testosterone in transgender females may increase the risk for atrial and ventricular arrhythmia 14 . There is higher incidence of atrial fibrillation in postmenopausal women on estrogen replacement therapy.…”

“…Estradiol metabolites may exert a protective effect on cardiac vessels by inhibiting vascular smooth muscle cells and cardiac fibroblasts and improving the function of vascular endothelial cells ( 28 ). In addition, some evidence has shown that estradiol has a significant effect on atrial electrophysiology, which may be related to the prevention of AF ( 29 ). This may also be one reason why women have a lower incidence of AF than men.…”

“…This means that preserving the allograft with E2 (1 mg/mL) improves posttransplant kidney function. But the supplementation of E2 is usually relevant with multiside effects 20,21 . In order to find out whether this method of drug usage affects the internal environment of the recipient, plasma estradiol and testosterone were also examined after 24 hours of IRI.…”

The results showed that there were no differences among 5 groups.…”
