Abstract: Essential oils are natural products with various biological characteristics caused by monoterpenes which have a high probability of producing new drugs. Carvone, monoterpenes have hypolipidemic, antiinflammatory, hypoglycemic and antioxidant effects. Aim: The aim of this research is to show that carvone has medicinal potential in the treatment of diabetes and hyperlipidemia in alloxan-induced diabetic rats, as well as its effect on insulin activity.
