“…It is noteworthy that a significant reduction of the process temperature for Ag catalysts without the addition of the second metal (e.g., Pt) was not yet achieved, which is connected with a weak adsorption of methanol over the silver surface and difficulties in the C-H bond cleavage in the methanol molecule as compared to other alcohols. Addition of Pt into the composition of PtAg/NbMCF-M catalyst provided the highest selectivity towards formaldehyde (53%) at 85% methanol conversion (200 • C), i.e., the impact of total oxidation of alcohol is high [31,32].…”

“…Among these methods, the electrospinning (ES) process is of great importance due to the advantages of materials that can be utilized by it. For example, this method enables synthesis of fibers with large surface‐to‐volume ratio and mesoporous structure for various catalytic applications . In addition, ES is an attractive way to produce high‐surface‐area fibers with diameters in the nano–micrometer range and nonwoven nanofiber mats, with unique properties …”

“…There exists a number of theoretical and experimental studies on methanol partial oxidation on silver catalysts. Nevertheless, many aspects of the process, like the rate limiting step and the actual reaction path, still remain elusive.…”

“…The process on the silver catalyst takes place at 800-900 Ku nder atmospheric pressure [3,4] and usually produces formaldehyde with ac onversion in excesso f90%. [2] There exists an umber of theoretical [5][6][7] and experimental studies [8][9][10][11] on methanolp artial oxidation on silver catalysts. Nevertheless, many aspects of the process,l ike the rate limiting step and the actual reactionp ath, still remain elusive.…”
