Hamartomas are tumor-like abnormalities typified by the presence of cellular proliferation indigenous to the native site. However, hamartomas maintain growth cessation without the potential for further growth or malignant transformation. Hamartomas are commonly seen in the lungs, kidney, liver, and spleen and rarely occur in the orofacial region. Various hamartomatous oral lesions include hemangiomas, lymphangiomas, tori, exostosis, dens invaginatus, dens evaginatus, odontomas, nevi, and cherubism. Infantile hemangiomas are benign vascular tumors that emerge soon after birth and experience rapid growth within the first year. Oral hemangiomas affect up to 6.4% of infants and are more common on the ventral surface of the tongue, as opposed to oral vascular malformations, which are more prevalent on the lips. It also has a 3:1 female-to-male predominance. Afterward, their growth usually stabilizes and enters a prolonged, incomplete involution phase. Uncomplicated hemangiomas generally exhibit spontaneous resolution, whereas few can leave behind scars and telangiectasias on the external surface of the skin on which it occurs. Thus, lesions located in anatomically sensitive regions necessitate vigilant surveillance and treatment. This paper deals with an asymptomatic swelling of the upper lip in a four-year-old female child but with problems in aesthetics, speech, and feeding. A thorough history, clinical examination, positive diascopy, ultrasonography, and histopathology confirmed the diagnosis of infantile hemangioma.

Hemangiomas of the jaw bones in children are extremely rare, but can have severe adverse effects.The goal. The purpose of this paper was to draw attention to the diagnostic problems of hemangiomas in children with coagulopathy problems, especially bone ones. Materials and methods. A special case of hemangioma of the mandible, in an adolescent with coagulation pathology, is presented. Results. The literature review and the present case found many identical problems, but also diagnostic and treatment peculiarities. Conclusion. Mandibular bone hemangiomas are rare vascular formations. The diagnosis of hemangiomas in children is difficult because of the rare incidence, treatment peculiarities, as well as because of hidden clinical signs. The general examination is necessary for all forms of hemangiomas and especially for those localized in the jaw bones. Coagulopathy problems greatly complicate the choice of treatment methods. Drug treatment is the favorable option of all treatment options at the present time. Choosing the right treatment method is an important moment in the prevention of side effects.

Central hemangioma is a rare self-involuting vascular tumor commonly located in the vertebral column and skull and rarely in jaw bones (0.5%–1%). The hemangiomas occurring in the mandible (owing to atypical and variable radiographic manifestations) pose a diagnostic dilemma to the dental surgeon. Biopsy or surgical excision of the lesion can result in severe haemorrhage, leading even to death; therefore accurate clinical and radiographic diagnosis is essential prior to any surgical intervention. In this article, we discuss a case of central hemangioma of the mandible occurring in a 48-year-old male patient who on angiography was diagnosed with vascular malformation and was treated with angioembolization.
