“…Idiopathic intracranial hypertension has developed following withdrawal of corticosteroid therapy, most often re¬ ported in children.29'31 Idiopathic in¬ tracranial hypertension has also been reported in patients with chronic ad¬ renal insufficiency.32·33 Additionally, but less commonly, IIH has been ob¬ served in patients being treated with a corticosteroid (triamcinolone) without tapering or withdrawal.34·35 Other en¬ docrine disorders have occurred con¬ currently with IIH, including hypothy¬ roidism,3638 hyperthyroidism,39 and hypoparathyroidism. 40 Idiopathic intracranial hyperten¬ sion has been reported in patients with a multitude of preexisting or concur¬ rent disease states. Iron deficiency anemia,13·41 blood loss anemia,42 perni¬ cious anemia,43 and aplastic anemia44 have all been reported in persons with UH.…”
