CFGFRPT Piles with a Circular Cross-Section and their Application in Offshore Structures

Abstract: The possibilities of using concrete piles in a polymer composite reinforced with glass fibres in offshore facilities were shown. Laboratory tests of CFGFRPT type piles compressed axially and in eccentric compression for the analysis of CFGFRPT piles were used. Methods of analysis of dynamic systems for mathematical modelling of the displacement of the hammer in the pile driving process were applied. The possibilities of combining CFGFRPT piles, including the creation of hybrid piles were also presented. For ex… Show more

“…Sample photograph of an off shore support vessel (OSV) operating at an off shore wind turbine (OWT) farm [1] Th ese issues are important and have been the subject of numerous scientifi c studies. Safety at sea is very important, therefore research has been carried out on various ocean engineering structures for diff erent purposes and dynamics [4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12]. For example, an analysis of ship collisions with 3 types of support structures was published by [13].…”

“…On the other hand, CFSS members could serve as beams in low-rise infrastructures (i.e., industrial buildings) [4]. Indeed, CFSS members have become increasingly popular in structural systems, due to their favorable structural performance characteristics, including high strength and ductility, and easy beam-to-column connection manufacturing process [5][6][7][8][9][10].…”
