Characteristics and Enrichment Factors of Supergiant Lower Cambrian Longwangmiao Gas Reservoir in Anyue Gas Field: The Oldest and Largest Single Monoblock Gas Reservoir in China

Abstract: An ultra-deep monoblock marine carbonate gas reservoir with the highest maturity and largest individual scale in China has been discovered in Lower Cambrian Longwangmiao Formation (LF) of Anyue gas field in the last few years. Based on a thorough study on Longwangmiao gas reservoir in the Gaoshiti-Moxi(GM) area, this paper presents the characteristics of such formation in Anyue gas field as follows: ¨it is a lithologic-anticlinal gas reservoir developed on a gentle paleouplift; ≠ the gas reservoir is character… Show more

“…The thicknesses of the Deng 2 and Deng 4 Members, respectively, vary with the range of 28-340 and 47.75-148.23 m, with corresponding average thicknesses of 93.36 and 88.54 m. The Qiongzhusi shales act as the seal with porosity of < 3%, permeability of (0.001-0.02) Â 10 À3 mm 2 , average throat radius of 0.6-1.2 mm (Zhang et al, 2015). As for the Longwangmiao reservoirs, the main reservoir spaces are pores (holes), and the main lithology is shoal-related sandy dolomites (Figures 4 and 5) (Li et al, 2015b). The maximum porosity and permeability of this reservoir are 18.48% and 4.24 mD, respectively, with corresponding mean values of 4.78% and 0.0005-78.5 mD.…”

“…The Anyue field is located in the north slope zone of the Weiyuan uplift and gas accumulated under the control of the Gaoshiti-Moxi paleo-uplift. The dolomite grain beach reservoir body was mainly developed in the Cambrian period (Zou et al 2014b;Wei et al 2015b;Zhu et al 2015;Li et al 2015). The Gomez and Puckett fields are located at the anticlinal flanks of the Delaware and Val Verde basins.…”

“…The Sichuan Basin in the South China Block records multiple tectonic events (e.g., Ordovician-Devonian Caledonian, Late Triassic Indosinian, Late Jurassic Yanshan, and the Cenozoic Himalaya orogenies) (Chen and Wilson, 1996;Dai et al, 2009;Harrowfield and Wilson, 2005;Jin et al, 2010;Sun, 2011;Yan et al, 2011). The majority of the hydrocarbon reserves of the Sichuan Basin are distributed close to its border regions (e.g., Longmen Shan Thrust belt, Micang Shan Uplift, Daba Shan Orogenies) (Li et al, 2015;Li et al, 2001;Liu et al, 2011;Ma et al, 2010) (Fig. 1B).…”
