Characterization of Copper Complex Nanoparticles synthesized by Plant Polyphenols

Abstract: In this paper a kind of copper oxide material of copper-polyphenols complex nanoparticles (Cu-P NPs) were synthesized by Cinnamomum pedunculatum leaves extract, which have different morphology and appearance compared with usual copper oxides Cu 2 O and CuO. For better understanding about this material, the Cu-P NPs were characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and thermogravimetric analy… Show more

“…The hump is only seen in the range between 2θ = 20° and 2θ = 30°. The XRD pattern achieved in this study is quite similar to that reported in the previous works 11 , 12 , 50 . Wang et al 50 fabricated iron-polyphenol complexes by plant extracts of rosemarinus officinalis, eucalyptus tereticornis, and melaleuca nesophila.…”

“…Extract solution of black tea leaves contains polyphenols to interact with the Ce +3 cations to synthesis Ce(III)-complex. Wang and An 11 synthesized iron–polyphenols complex by extract solution of eucalyptus leaves leaves. The authors indicated that plant polyphenols cannot reduce iron ions to iron nanoparticles (NPs).…”

“…The peak seen at 1654 cm -1 in the spectrum of 50% Cu doped ZnO nanostructured thin film corresponds to the stretching vibration of the Cu-O bond. As compared to FTIR spectra of pure ZnO films, a significant decrease in the intensity of bands and a shift in its positions towards lower wave number region is clearly seen in FTIR spectra with increasing Cu concentration (Handani et al 2020, Yadav et al 2021, Raul et al 2014, Wang and An 2017. This result indicates that there is an interaction between Cu and ZnO.…”

“…Furthermore, the normally cultured colony biofilm is thicker than that under the condition of introducing TGs with metal particles added, suggesting a bacteriostatic effect from nicotine as well as Ag and Cu particles. Among them, the effect of TGs with Cu and Ag addition on inhibiting E. coli is better, which has been studied in other fields [ [20] , [21] , [22] ], therefore, E. coli was stained for further observation by using fluorescence confocal microscopy. The 3D reconstruction mapping of E. coli biofilms with and without TG addition is displayed in Fig.…”
