Characterization of Hydroxyapatite Coated SS316L for Biomedical Application

Abstract: This paper focuses on characterization of Hydroxyapatite coated SS316 L using Pulse vapour deposition method. The target material (Hydroxyapatite) has been synthesised chemically in laboratory through the addition of (NH4)2HPO4 with Ca (NO3)24H2O solution. This mixture has been converted in to circular blocks through various processes as explained below and coated over the stainless steel substrate. The morphological characteristics of the coating and surface roughness analysis have done through SEM and AFM. A… Show more

“…represents a process of design of lattice structure for bone implant in fused deposition modeling via invitro. This physical model is called a bio-model in health-related applications [33][34][35]. In the subsequent processes, the polymer-rich phase becomes a matrix, and the polymer-lean phase turns into pores when the solvent gets evaporated.…”

“…This revolutionary method is critically relevant to a cell and the medical device industry applications. The study integrates well with biomedical cell devices, where miniaturized scaffolds are required [33][34][35]. The microdevices, a non-biological cell, will also benefit from this work.…”

“…Then, after being sufficiently heated and accelerated by plasma jet, the melted materials are sprayed onto the targeted substrate surface. This coating provides a protective layer that can prevent corrosion, wear, or high temperatures [96,97]. Once impact, the droplets of molten particles cool down and straightaway solidify by means of heat transfer to the underlying substrate and consequently forming a coating consist of lamellae as the result of accumulation [98].…”

“…Experimental setup: 2.1 a) shows the dimension of stainless steel plate which is readily available in market and then the plate is cut into required shape as shown in fig 2.1 d). The cutting machine with bed is and the cutting process is shown in fig 2.1 b) & 2.1 c) respectively which is similar to [11]. The material is cut into required shape and the test is carried out in the emissivity and absorptivity testing machine shown in fig 2.1 e).…”
