This research article is about the use of translation strategy namely explicitation in the translation of a novel from Indonesian into English. The data source is an Indonesian novel entitled Lelaki Harimau written by Eka Kurniawan and its English translation, Man Tiger as the data source. The translation of a novel from Indonesian into English may not as many as the translation work from English into Indonesian. The novel creates commands and critics regarding its content as well as its language use. It is interesting to see how Indonesian culture reflected in the novel is presented in English through translation. The translator tries to do his best to provide equal information in the target language text as given in the source language text. The uniqueness in the source language text needs a hard work to do in delivering the closest natural equivalent in the target language text. Untranslatability is no longer issue as there are strategies of translation that can be applied, one of them is explicitation. The explicitation strategy used is the one proposed by Klaudy. Using descriptive qualitative method, this research is aimed at revealing the kind of information being explicitated, the forms of explicitation used, and the semantic information of the words explicitated. The results show that the kind of information is both cultural and non-cultural, and the forms of explicitation identified are all five of them and semantically all the words being explicitated become clearer, specific, and more informative

This study was aimed at investigating the effects of Podcast with Peer Assisted Learning in the EFL listening classroom. In conducting this research, pre-experimental design was used. The sample of this study was selected by using simple random sampling involving 27 students as the sample. The data collected were analyzed by using t-test (paired sample t-test) and percentage for two questionnaires, students’ motivation and perception. The result showed that (a) there was a significant difference in listening comprehension achievement before and after being taught by using Podcast with Peer Assisted Learning where t-obtained was 8.921 and the significance value was 0.000 which less than 0.05. On the basis of this result, it can be inferred that listening comprehension achievement of students before and after teaching by using podcast with peer-assisted learning was substantially improved. (b) The percentage score for learning motivation from the students was (55.6%) in high level, moderate 29.6% and low level was (5%). This score was considered students have high level of learning motivation. (c) most of the students gave positive perceptions on the use podcast with peer assisted learning in listening classroom. It can be concluded that teaching using podcast with peer assisted learning can develop the students listening comprehension achievement.

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: 1. Mendeskripsikan tipe psikologis tokoh utama dalam “A Caribbean Mystery” karya Agatha Christie berdasarkan teori psikoanalisis Carl Gustav Jung. 2. Mendeskripsikan faktor-faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi psikologis tokoh utama dalam “A Caribbean Mystery” karya Agatha Christie berdasarkan teori psikoanalisis Sigmund Freud. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian adalah novel yang berjudul "A Caribbean Mystery" dan data penelitian tersebut meliputi: Jenis dan Faktor Psikologi yang mempengaruhi psikologi tokoh utama. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik pustaka yaitu dokumen. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik membaca, menandai, coding dan menganalisis. Hasil penelitian dapat dirumuskan bahwa terdapat dua bentuk psikologi pada manusia, yaitu jenis psikologi yang ada dalam alam sadar dan tidak sadar. Faktor yang mempengaruhi psikologi manusia terdiri dari faktor personal dan faktor situasional, namun dalam novel “A Caribbean Mystery” faktor yang mempengaruhi psikologi tokoh utama didominasi oleh faktor personal.
