Recently, we reported on the synthesis of a self-assembling system ligand LH2, 1 and synthesized some of these complexes possessing [pyda·H] + as a counter ion. It is worth noting that we recently succeeded, however, to synthesis and report Bi(III), Zn(II) and Cd(II) complexes from LH2. 2 The Bi(III) complex is a polymeric complex, the Zn(II) complex is mononuclear and possesses a [pyda·H] + counter ion, while the Cd(II) complex is binuclear and neutral. Here, we report on the construction of a novel polymeric self-assembled multilayers Hg(II) complex of LH2 The X-ray data were collected at 110(2)K on a Bruker SMART diffractometer using graphite-monochromated Mo Kα radiation (λ = 0.71073 Å) and the θ-2θ technique over a θ range of 1.93 to 30.07˚. The crystal data and experimental parameters are given in Table 1. The structure was solved by automatic direct methods using SHELXL-97. 3 The structure was refined by a full-matrix least-squares analysis on F 2 with SHELXL. The method for absorption correction is described as a multi-
