Characterization of Thermally Evaporated In2S3 Films for Solar Cell Application

Abstract: Indium sulphide (In 2 S 3 ) is one of the best alternatives for CdS as a buffer layer in CuInGaSe 2 -based thin film heterojunction solar cells. In this work, In 2 S 3 films were prepared by thermal evaporation of In 2 S 3 powder onto glass substrates at different temperatures that vary from 200 ∘ C to 300 ∘ C. The as-grown films were characterized using appropriate techniques to evaluate the chemical and physical properties. The X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that all the films were polycrystalline in na… Show more

“…Usually In 2 S 3 gives rise to peaks at (002), (222), (400), (511) and (444) corresponding to the JCPDS card No. 65-0459[32][33][34]. In our work, the sample deposited with 0.03 M solution shows high intense peaks at 14.16°, 28.61°, 33.14°, 43.56° and 59.26° re ected from (103), (206), (220), (309) and (4012) planes con rming the formation of β…”
