Characterization Phenomena of Thermal Transfer Through an Insulating Material Kapok-plaster Starting from Dynamic Impedance Method

Abstract: Objective of study is to determine thermal properties of an insulating material from thermal impedance spectroscopy. Plaster used as binder is less than thermal insulating kapok, however thermal characteristics of kapokplaster material, formed in Semi-conductor laboratory and Solar Energie (UCAD/Senegal), are closer to those of kapok and promotes good thermal insulation. Electrical analogy-Thermal allowed expressing the dynamic thermal impedance of material in dynamic frequency regime. Study of evolution of dy… Show more

“…A cold room ( Figure 1) is a special room equipped with a refrigeration machine [6] which keeps the temperature and relative humidity [7] of the air at constant values. It consists of four side walls, a ceiling and a low floor. The particularity of these local insulators is based on the type of thermal insulation [8,9] used which is a determining factor for maintaining a low temperature at a reasonable energy cost. The insulation in question is subjected to external climatic stresses [10] as shown in Figure 1 (convection, radiation, etc.). Figure 2 is a section on one of the side walls of the cold room showing the composition of the materials and their different thermophysical parameters.…”

“…The high energy consumption [1] was caused by air conditioning in buildings and prompted researchers to focus on the characterization of high performance local insulating materials to improve thermal comfort [2] of buildings and save energy and money it is important to use local materials that are available and easy to use, hence the interest of insulating the hearths with an insulating material [3] with a small thickness to amortize the cost of investment. In this work, we determined the optimum insulation thickness [4] of the plaster tow material.…”
