Chemical binding of horseradish peroxidase enzyme with poly beta‐cyclodextrin and its application as molecularly imprinted polymer for the monitoring of H2O2 in human plasma samples

Abstract: In this study, a selective and sensitive molecular imprinting-based electrochemical sensors, for horseradish peroxidase (HRP) entrapment was fabricated using electro polymerization of ß-Cyclodextrin (ß-CD) on the surface of glassy carbon electrode. Poly beta-cyclodextrin P(ß-CD) provide efficient surface area for self-immobilization of HRP as well as improve imprinting efficiency. The proposed imprinted biosensor successfully utilized for detection of HRP with excellent analytical results which linear range is… Show more

“…Another possible application of the MIP extraction procedure is the work of Sardaremelli et al [97] for monitoring hydrogen peroxide in plasma samples, fully validated and applied to unprocessed biological samples. Abdollahiyan et al [98] have used MIPS for the identification of carcinoembryonic antigens in plasma samples, concluding that the developed extraction technique appears to be suitable for point-of-care applications in biomedical and clinical analysis.…”

“…A recent work describes a molecularly imprinted polymer sensor for horseradish peroxidase (HRP) prepared through an electropolymerization of ß-CDs on the surface of a glassy carbon electrode [ 136 ]. In this study, Poly beta-cyclodextrins P(ß-CDs) were used as supporting material and the reaction was carried out combining electropolymerization of ß-CDs and the molecular imprinted technology.…”

“… 10‐12 . In comparison with the other diagnostic techniques, MIPs, which comprise three main unique characters of application universality, recognition specificity, and structure predictability, have found broad interest and have become useful in several areas, such as separation and purification, 13 bio/chemosensing, 14 drug delivery, 15 artificial antibodies, 16 and catalysis, 17 respect to their straightforward preparation, high physical stability, affordability, and remarkable robustness 18 . Bulk polymerization is a conventional method for molecular imprinting.…”
