Abstract:The present study was designed to determine the phytochemical constituents of Cichorium intybus and Portulaca oleracea and evaluate the antioxidant activity of their methanolic extract. It was found that Cichorium intybus and Portulaca oleracea contained total ash 6.08 and 7.12%, crude lipid 0.63 and 0.54%, crude protein 3.94 and 4.09%, crude fiber 9.0 and 8.34%, and total carbohydrates 80.33 and 79.91%, respectively.
