“…However, a prior adaptation of ruminal microorganisms to this compound is possible, so its degradability is significant. As observed in Chiaravalli et al [43] and Kilama et al [56], lignin is the most important component of NDF or non-degradable NDF that can affect the digestibility of the dry matter or organic matter of foods used in feeding ruminants.…”

“…Gao et al, (2019) found that following corn grain harvest, upon prolongation of exposure time, the moisture, and nutrients of corn stover decreases and ligni cation increases resulting in decreased digestibility for animals. Corn silage is considered a premium ruminant feed because of its highly digestible NDF with values ranging from 33.4-50.7% (Kilama et al 2023). Rice hulls may also be affecting the rate of degradability due to its high ber content.…”

“…Despite being highly nutritious, use of potato tubers for feeding ruminants is faced with several limitations such as high moisture content, short storability (Kilama et al, 2023) potential health risks such as digestive problems, acidosis, and choking (A. D. Pavlista and Rush, 2002), and toxicity to mammals (Morris and Lee, 1984).…”
