CHEMICAL PREPARATION, THERMAL BEHAVIOR, KINETIC AND INFRARED STUDIES AND QUANTUM CHEMICAL CALCULATIONS OF Ca3(P3O9)2•10H2O

Abstract: Chemical preparation, thermal behavior, kinetic and IR studies are given for the cyclotriphosphate Ca 3 (P 3 O 9 ) 2 . 10H 2 O. Ca 3 (P 3 O 9 ) 2 . 10H 2 O is monoclinic P2 1 /n with the following unit-cell dimensions : a = 9.332(7)Å, b = 18.13(1)Å, c = 7.841(5), β = 106.69(5)° and Z = 2. Ca 3 (P 3 O 9 ) 2 . 10H 2 O has never been studied except for its crystallographic characterization. The thermal behavior of Ca 3 (P 3 O 9 ) 2 .10H 2 O has been studied and interpreted by comparison with IR absorption spectro… Show more

“…The bands at 906, 758 and 700 cm –1 were characteristic of the ν s POP symmetric vibrations, which was consistent with the infrared spectrum of P 3 O 10 5– and P 2 O 7 4– . The band at 758 cm –1 was characterized with the structure of a P 3 O 10 5– triphosphate. , The band at 536 cm –1 showed the bending vibration of phosphates with P 3 O 10 5– and P 2 O 7 4– . ,, FTIR spectra further confirmed the existence of TPP and CPPD in the microflowers. Therefore, the microflowers were identified as the mixture of CS-TPP nanocomplexes and CPPD crystals.…”

“…-three bands of average intensity, which are characteristic of any lowering of symmetry relative to C3h observed at 1160 and 680 cm -1 -A very intense band that appears as a quadruplet of frequencies: 580, 545, 520 and 480 cm -1 . All the spectral characteristics of a P 3 O 9 3deformed cycle, of pseudo-symmetry C 3V , defined by K. SBAI [4], are found in the absorption spectrum IR of MnCa 2 (P 3 O 9 ) 2 The signification of the used symbols: S: strong, VS: very strong, A: average SH: shoulder.…”
