“…Thin films and nanostructures properties are sensitive to the preparation method used and synthetic route [13][14][15]. Numerous techniques have been used to grow CdS and Cd 1-x Zn x S thin films including dip coating [16], electrodeposition [17], chemical vapor deposition (CVD) [18], aerosol-assisted CVD (AA-CVD) [19][20][21], chemical bath deposition (CBD) [2,8,22,23], spray pyrolysis [24,25], thermal evaporation [26], successive ionic layer and reaction (SILAR) [27], thermolysis [28,29], electrochemical atomic layer epitaxy (ECALE) [11], sol-gel spin coating, [30,31] doctor's blade, [32] and others [14,21,33,34].…”

“…When the solution is allowed to stand for another hour, the needles begin to dissolve and prisms emerge of the supramolecular isomer (SI), binuclear {Cd[S2CN(iPr)CH2CH2OH]2}2·2EtOH (2). These have been fully characterized spectroscopically and by X-ray crystallography.…”

“…(-6 -5 1), (12 -1 1), (-6 - 5 14) and (-2 6 1), again owing to poor agreement. For 4, the O2-hydroxyethyl residue, with the exception of the hydroxyl-H atom, was disordered over two positions in a ratio 0.851(2):0.149 (2). The ADP of matching pairs of atoms were constrained to be equal and nearly isotropic.…”

“…Nanoparticles of cobalt sulphide have been synthesized by hydrothermal (Liu 2005) or solvothermal methods (Qian et al 2000), microwave-assisted techniques (Chen et al 2003) and the thermolysis of single-source precursors (Dutta et al 2008;Maneerprakorn et al 2010). In our continuing search for routes to semiconductor nanoparticles from single-source precursors (Trindade et al 2001;Li et al 2006;Fan et al 2007;Afzaal et al 2010), we now report the synthesis of cobalt complexes of 1,1,5,5-tetramethyl-2,4-dithiobiuret, [Co{N(SCNMe 2 ) 2 } 3 ] (1), and 1,1,5,5-tetraisopropyl-2-thiobiuret, [Co{N(SOCN i Pr 2 ) 2 } 2 ] (2), and their use for the selective synthesis of Co 1−x S and Co 4 S 3 phase cobalt sulphide nanoparticles.…”
